Sewing March | Details

Yesterday I didn't sew because B. and I were out until late at night.
Today I tried to decide how I'm going to finish the blouse collar. I thought about different solutions, but I'm not sure yet. It has to be simple, though.

See you on Tuesday!

Sewing March | Calming

Yesterday I forgot to write! But I didn't forget to sew.
And what to say? It's been calming to do this everyday in the evening. It's been a nice way to forget the stress of the day.

See you tomorrow!

Sewing March | Progress and worry

Yesterday I sewed for about half an hour and could see some nice progress in my work. Today I didn't sew because my sister was at the hospital and I was too worried to think about sewing... Things are better now, though.

See you on Friday.

Sewing March | Slowly but steadily

With two more days of sewing I can see my blouse taking shape. I'm going slowly, but I can see progress and that's all that matters.

It feels good to have finally stepped out of my sewing procrastination trance!

See you on Wednesday ;)

Sewing March | Happy

I'm so happy to have started this challenge! Even though I'm only sewing 15 to 25 minutes a day, and I'm only on the second day, I already can see some progress on the project I'm working on (which is a very simple blouse). I felt happy to sit and sew, so I don't really know why I procrastinated so much on this...

Anyway, this weekend will be one of those (few) exceptions in which I won't do the challenge. B. and I are going on a weekend getaway and I won't be taking the fabrics and sewing machine with me ;)

So... See you Monday!

Sewing March | The rules

My new challenge/experiment will be about... Sewing!

I like to sew and I even have a tiny Etsy shop, but since I started this new job I haven't sewn at all. The thing is, I feel like this job sucks most of my energy (and will power). Everything else now requires more conscious effort - like exercising, sewing, decluttering, etc.

So this challenge will be simple: I must work on a sewing project for at least 15 minutes each day. The exceptions will be those few days in which, for some valid reason, I can't really do it.

My first project will be to work on a very simple blouse I started last summer. It's really simple because it's the first piece of clothing that I try to do!

This time, instead of writing here everyday, I'll write only every other day.

See you on Thursday, then!

Decluttering February | Challenge complete - day 27

Even though February still has one more day, I will consider my decluttering challenge complete today. I don't know what else to declutter - I believe that's a sign that I'm done with this (for now).

Everything in my home is less cluttered and much more in order than it was before. Even though sometimes it was hard to declutter (yes, even for just 15 minutes - especially when I was feeling very tired), I'm happy I did this. I'm now at peace with each cabinet and drawer in my home. And with my digital folders!

I plan to do this regularly, in the future. It's amazing how much you can tackle in just 10-15 minutes. So this strategy is definitively a must keep.

Tomorrow I'll reveal my next challenge/experiment.

See you then!
